Our choice</title><summary type='text'>This happy little thought prompted by the above linked article about what the world might be like 90 years from now.  The mainstream thought is 10B people, no oil or gas, food shortages, everybody living in mega cities, a quarter of the population over 65 yrs old.  Not a pretty sight.

Here's the interesting part. We booked a trip with a Jacobite tour that took us to the 4000 year old Corrimony burial cairn, the Urquhart Castle, and a boat trip down the lake and into the canal. It took all day and we loved it. Starting with the Tuesday night sleep-over in Auckland,  a morning flight on Wednesday to Melbourne, hang in Melbourne airport for 5 hours, then 9 more hours on a brand new Air Thailand Boeing 777, landing just before midnight in Bangkok, 6AM Thursday our time. They love them because they're better than the flies.  We've gone the route for mosquitos apparently.  We've had them everywhere we've gone except Paihia on the north island. What about the rest of the country?  Having worn out our welcome in the parking lot of the Mousetrap, we loaded up the camper, lowered the roof and headed off for the midlands of North island.Along the way we saw a few strange sites.  The PNW has it's Ecotopia, but New Zealand has Eutopia.Next stop Rotorua - land of hot springs and stinky gases. We took the train in as planned and walked around around the Botanic Gardens and the Sydney Museum. Checked out Balcon De Uvita, apleasant little villa way up on a hill overlooking Ballenas Nationalpark.Three very pretty little cabins, a small but very deep pool (nota kids pool),          and about 300 vertical(!) feet up a semi improved trail, afine little restaurant. It's apretty little collection of "villa's" right on the beach.  The beach islovely, perfect for the kids to body surf and chase little crabs.
